Manila, Philippines – The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability will launch another leg of its investigation on the controversial P10-billion Poverty Eradication and Alleviation Certificate (PEACe) bonds with Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” J. Soliman participating as among the key resource persons in the congressional hearing.
Iloilo Rep. Jerry Trenas, committee chairman, said the panel decided to reopen the congressional investigation when Congress resumes sessions on November 14 following the concern raised by the Freedom from Debt Coalition that the government is paying this month P35 billion for the maturing treasury bonds that the Caucus of NGO Networks (CODE-NGO) purportedly transacted, which was earlier denied by its former head, Soliman.
