In the 1999 PBA Commissioners Cup held on August 13, the Alaska Milkmen booted out the Mobiline Phone Pals (now better known as Talk ‘n Text) 88-77, to gain passage to the semifinals.

The import-laiden conference showed Alaska parading Devin Harris while Mobiline had Silas Mills.

Among the players who donned the Alaska colors that year included Johnny Abarrientos, Kenneth Duremdes, Jojo Lastimosa, Poch Juinio, Rodney Santos, Bong Hawkins and James Walkvist.

On the other side, Mobiline had Jeffrey Cariaso, Asi Taulava, Patrick Fran, Al Solis, and Bryan Gahol.

Alaska would eventually make it to the 1999 PBA Commissioners Cup Finals but bowed to the Formula Shell Zoom Masters (3-2). The Milkmen eventually copped third place when they defeated the Sta. Lucia Realtors in a lone knockout match.
