Young Pinay wins IPU peace essay tilt

A 10-year-old Filipina won the first-ever essay writing competition about peace at the Inter-Parliamentary Union Global Conference in Geneva, Switzerland recently.

Ana Patricia dela Rosa won the first essay writing competition sponsored by the IPU about “What Peace Means to Me?” which aims to raise awareness about global concerns among the young generation.

Dela Rosa received the award from the IPU Secretary-General Martin Chungong and read her winning essay in front of all member-state representatives and delegations at the IPU Global Conference on October 21.

The Philippine Mission and the members of the Philippine delegation who attended the IPU Global Conference in Geneva are very proud of Ana for winning the competition,” Philippine permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Cecilia Rebong, said.

Ana Patricia is the daughter of Anthony dela Rosa, who works as an Information Technology professional at the Joint United Nations Programs on HIV/AIDS, and Christine dela Rosa. (Madel S. Namit)
