San Beda has appointed Andy Jao as its basketball commissioner when the 92nd NCAA season unfolds on June 25 at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
“Yes, he’s the NCAA commissioner this coming season,” said NCAA Management Committee chair Jose Mari Lacson of host San Beda referring to Jao.
NCAA president and San Beda rector Fr. Aloysius Maranan, OSB, confirmed Jao’s appointment.
It will be Jao’s first stint as commissioner in the NCAA and third overall after he served as one in the UAAP in 2011 and 2014.
Jao also served as a commissioner of the defunct Phl Basketball League.
“We have confidence in him (Jao) and we know he’ll be fair to everyone,” said Lacson.
