Kris prays for Duterte, lauds curfew for minors

Kris Aquino

ACTRESS-television host Kris Aquino has called on Filipinos to support President Rodrigo Duterte as she prayed for the success of the new administration.

“I pray for President Duterte. I pray that our country will continue to prosper economically. Bilang nanay gusto ko ‘yung curfew. Ang dami rin namang nagdasal kay Noy. I’ll do my share also,” said Kris, in an exclusive interview on “24 Oras” news program on GMA 7 last Wednesday night.

After seven weeks of wellness vacation in Hawaii and US, Aquino came home with her sons Josh and Bimby to help her brother former President Benigno Aquino III in his transition as private citizen and attend the inauguration of Vice President-elect Leni Robredo on June 30.

Kris, 45, said that her brother will return to their family home on Times Street in Quezon City following the inauguration of Duterte.

Her brother will be accompanied by a cook, a househelp and a yaya in his residence.

Security men from the Presidential Security Group (PSG) will still escort the former Philippine President even if he has finished his term, the news report said.

“Meron kaming mga last minute na chineck kasi hindi pa n’ya nakikita. Hindi naman surprise, it’s just that he hasn’t been inside the house. Ginawa ‘yun lahat nung mga sisters ko. Tapos pagdating n’ya, inasikaso namin na may food at may handa,” said Kris.

Kris said that her sons promised her to help the former President enjoy his private life.

She said that her brother does not enjoy travelling. In most cases, they usually wait for their brother’s go-signal if he has any plans, she said.

“Nagpromise s’ya dun sa two boys at sabi nila ‘Tito Noy you said you wanted to go to the beach. So you’re going to bring us,’ “ Kris added.

“Sinabi nila na may mga movies na silang inilista at sinabi nila kay PNoy na we have to watch this,” she said.

“In case you get lonely, you have 3 noisy, makulit, energetic house mates (Kuya Josh, Bimb, and me) ready to occupy your guest room & keep you company whether you like it or not.#ThankYouPNoy,” Kris told her brother on Instagram.🇵🇭
Kris said that she will hire private security escorts for her two children.

She added that she is unfazed by the recent threats from the Abu Sayyaf group who allegedly wanted to abduct her.

“Wala naman ‘yun siguro kasi kinailangan lang naman nilang gawin ‘yun kasi yung kapatid ko parang pumirma-pirma lang pero ngayon deadma na sila,” Kris said.

Kris also said that she has taped an episode for the daily morning show of Marian Rivera “Yan ang Morning” on GMA 7 which was shown yesterday.

“It was a pleasure for me to honor my commitment to @dongdantes & @therealmarian to tape my guesting for Yan ang Morning this afternoon. Thank you to everybody who made me feel so comfortable & welcomed me w/ so much warmth,” Kris said on IG.

Following her arrival in Manila last Sunday, June 26, Aquino made her first public appearance in Dasmariñas, Cavite on June 28 in which she graced the unveiling of the People Power Monument, hospital marker and the hospital blessing of the Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas. She was invited by Congressman Pidi Barzaga and Mayor Jenny Barzaga.
