New ‘nerve-racking’ role for Rhian

Rhian Ramos

After doing “The Rich Man’s Daughter” and “Dangwa,” Rhian Ramos is set to play Clara on the TV adaptation of Maryo J. Delos Reyes’ 1992 hit film, “Sinungaling Mong Puso.”

She stars alongside Rafael Rosell, who plays her husband Roman; and Kiko Estrada as Jason, a guy 10 years her junior.

“Isa siyang babae na really trying to find what is best for her in terms of love life and more, kung anong magiging buhay niya,” she said of Clara.

The movie starred Vilma Santos, Gabby Concepcion, and Aga Muhlach. Rhian feels honored to play the role first brought to life by the Star for All Seasons.

“Vilma is one of the queens of dramas in Philippine showbiz,” Rhian gushed. “To have something in common with her is already a compliment for me.”

Asked if she has experienced being torn between two guys like her character on the soap, the young actress said, “In the past, parang nag-overlap ’yung isa tsaka ’yung next. Nag-overlap sila kaya we broke up. Then that next guy became my boyfriend like few months later.”

Rhian considers “Sinungaling Mong Puso” quite “nerve-racking and challenging.” It airs the pilot episode July 18 on GMA Afternoon Prime under the direction of Ricky Davao.

“Na-intimidate ako at first doon sa lalim ng project at kung sino ’yung original na nagplay,” she said. “Pero later on, parang I just didn’t wanna pressure myself na I’m trying to do better or fill someone’s shoes. Gumagawa lang tayo ng sarili nating version. Same mechanics, pero iba siya.”

Rhian added: “This is something new to me. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to showbiz. I always feel so new (here). I always feel like I’m fresh out of high school and I just got here yesterday.”

Finally said yes
After seven years of wooing her, Rhian has agreed to grace the cover of a certain men’s magazine. The photo shoot was held in France.

Having done shoots mostly for fashion’s magazines, Rhian revealed her thoughts on why she declined previous offers.

“Ako, I felt like I don’t want to be bathroom material. Parang, I mean, I’m just saying I don’t wanna present myself that way,” she said.
