Pocari, Air Force duel in final

Games Today
(Philsports Arena)
11 a.m. – Sta. Elena vs IEM (S. Turf 3rd Place)
2 p.m. – Air Force vs Cignal (S. Turf Finals)
4 p.m. – Laoag vs BaliPure (3rd Place)
6 p.m. – Air Force vs Pocari (Finals)

Beating Alyssa Valdez and BaliPure in a grueling three-game semis series was already a great achievement for the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors.

But the feat of Myla Pablo and company would amount to nothing if they can’t hurdle the last obstacle in their bid to join the elite club of Shakey’s V-League champions.

Standing their way are the Air Force Lady Jet Spikers who are not only on a mission but also on a roll.

So when they begin their best-of-three series in the Season 13 Open Conference today expect dramatic scenes and fireworks at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Game time is at 6 p.m. with both teams determined to win the opener of the title series which is vital in a short title series.

The winner will gain a big psychological advantage which the Air Force male spikers are enjoying as they go for a sweep of the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Open Conference.

The Jet Spikers drew first blood in their own title duel with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-19 win over the Cignal HD Spikers last July 4 – thanks greatly to the huge plays of Fauzi Ismail and Howard Mojica.

Air Force and Cignal clash at 2 p.m. following the battle for third between Sta. Elena and IEM at 11 a.m.

Though the win was a breeze for Air Force, Air Force Coach Rhovyl Verayo said they are prepared for a possible comeback by Cignal.
