“I’m totally fascinated by the reality of that film and the performances throughout…the entire cast doing their best.

“It’s better than ‘Son of Saul’ for me and it’s definitely going to be a classic,” ayon pa ng award-winning filmmaker.

“That was something that was there in “Ma’ Rosa” and that something is what I’m missing from Japanese cinema today.

“There might be some good films, seemingly the films admired by Japanese critics always disappoint me maybe because of the rummage pacing and it’s untrue,” diin pa niya.

Pinuri rin ni Harada ang buong cast ng “Ma’ Rosa” na pinangungunahan ni Jaclyn Jose, Andi Eigenmann, Julio Diaz, Felix Roco at Jomari Angeles.

Deserve daw ni Jaclyn ang manalo sa Cannes bilang best actress dahil lahat daw ng eksena nito ay “so great” at “every moment is so true”.

Guest of honor si Harada sa naganap na Eiga Sai Japanese Film Festival ng Japan Foundation, Manila and the Embassy of Japan.

Dalawang pelikula ni Harada ang pinalabas noong July 7 and 8 sa CCP Little Theater. Ito ay ang “Kakeromi” and “The Emperor of August.”

A Clockwork Orange” in 1971 at “Full Metal Jacket” in 1987.

(RUEL J. MENDOZA)
