The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has renewed its campaign to rid major thoroughfares of street dwellers being considered as eyesores.

A joint operation between the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the City of Manila has rescued a number of street dwellers off the streets in Manila.

The groups operated was conducted along major thoroughfares along Roxas Boulevard, Lawton, P. Burgos, V. Cruz, Mabini, T.M. Kalaw, Pedro Gil, San Andres Bukid, L. Guinto, Remedios, Malate, and Sinagoga.

At least 41 street dwellers, including eight minors, were taken off the streets.

Rescued street dwellers will be given temporary shelters at the Reception and Action Center in the City of Manila that regularly accepts street dwellers, vagrants, and mendicants.
