‘8’ plate declared ‘expired’

Keep an eye out for motorists or congressmen who use the No. 8 protocol plate on their vehicles. Chances are they are breaking the law.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said no new No. 8 plates have been issued for House of Representatives members in the ongoing 17th Congress that started last July 25.

This makes all existing No. 8 plates on the road “expired,” Alvarez said in a DZMM interview yesterday.

“Nag-expire na ‘yung plaka na ‘yun, that was for the 16th Congress. So puwede kang mahuli diyan,” the speaker said.

“Dapat hindi na puwedeng gamitin ‘yun kasi expired na yun,” Alvarez stressed.
