BAYBAY CITY, Leyte – The Leyte provincial jail will be on high alert status as detained Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa is set to be arraigned today at the Bulwagan ng Katarungan here.
According to jail warden Homobono Badillion, there is a need to declare a high alert status as aside from being a high profile inmate, his men are the ones assigned to transport the controversial mayor to Regional Trial Court judge Carlos Arguelles of Branch 14.
Serving as back up to Badillion’s men are members of the Leyte Police Provincial Office.
Regional State Prosecutor Irwin Maraya said a panel of prosecutors will be ready for the arraignment of Mayor Espinosa who is facing charges of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
