Police yesterday met officials of top organizations engaged in the manufacture and selling of fireworks and firecrackers following the explosion in Bocaue, Bulacan that left two people dead.
Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police, said the meeting is aimed at crafting measures and policies to prevent the repeat of the incident in Bocaue in which 10 establishments and 10 cars were damaged after a series of explosions occurred inside a firecracker warehouse.
“There were issues and concerns discussed during the meeting,” said Carlos, adding that it was the PNP, though the Firearms and Explosives Office, which invited the businessmen.
Among those who participated in the meeting were representatives from Philippine Fireworks Association and Philippine Pyrotechnics Manufacturers and Dealers Association. (Aaron B. Recuenco)
