Machang-style Rice

Nais niyo bang gawing memorable ang isang espesyal o simpleng okasyon? Ngayon, hindi niyo na kailangan pang mag-isip kung ano ang dapat ihanda para maisakatuparan ito dahil ituturo ko kung paano lutuin ang masarap na Machang-Style Rice. Yum yum yum, mga Kapuso!

Ingredients:
2 cups glutinous rice, soaked in water and drained
1 tbsp olive oil
12 pcs shiitake mushroom, sliced
500 g pork belly, cut into 1 inch cubes
½ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp white sugar
¼ tsp 5 spice powder
1 pc red onion, minced
1 head garlic, minced
2 tbsps sesame oil
4 pcs Chinese sausages, sliced
banana leaf for lining

Procedure:
1. In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic, onion, sausage and shiitake mushrooms. Add pork, soy sauce, sugar and 5 spice powder. Cook until brown. Add sesame oil. Remove pork and mushrooms from pan and set aside. Reserve liquid in the pan.
2. Add rice to the pan with the reserved liquid. Stir until cooked. Transfer into a bowl lined with banana leaf and the pork and mushroom mixture. Cover with banana leaf and foil.
3. Transfer the bowl in a steamer; continue to cook the machang rice until rice is thoroughly cooked.
