For implicating Senator Leila de Lima to the alleged drug trafficking operations at the National Bilibid Prison, five inmates of the National Bilibid Prison (NBP) have strong chances of being granted executive clemency by President Rodrigo Duterte, the House independent minority said yesterday.
Reps. Edcel Lagman (LP, Albay) and Gary Alejano (Magdalo Partylist) said the five convicts have applied for pardon and executive clemency and may likely be rewarded by the administration for taking part in the House Committee on Justice inquiry into the alleged NBP drug transactions that have allegedly financially benefitted Senator Leila de Lima during her term as secretary of the Department of Justice.
