3 men killed after leaving police station

Three men, one of them had just been released from police detention cell after being arrested for illegal gambling, were shot dead by four motorcycle-riding armed men in Pasay City, Thursday night.

Police identified the victims as Jackie Florez, 30; Christian Reyes, 39, both residents of Apelo Street, Barangay 157 Zone 16, Pasay City; and Diosdado Escamillas, 24, of 112 Barangay Masinsur Baloyboy, Candelaria, Quezon.

Flores and Escamallias died on the spot while Reyes succumbed to bullet wounds in the head and body while undergoing treatment at Pasay City General Hospital.

SPO1 Giovanni Arcinue of the Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch said the trio were shot by four unidentified armed men on board two motorcycles at about 10:15 p.m. along F.B. Harrison St., corner Arnaiz Avenue in Pasay City.

Arcinue said that prior to the incident, Florez called up his sister Jamil, telling her that he was already on his way home after members of the Station Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Operation Task Group (SAID-SOTG) released him. He was arrested earlier for illegal gambling. (Jean Fernando)
