Pocari Sweat and BaliPure gun for a share of the top spot when they clash today in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Match is at 4 p.m. with the winner joining solo leader University of Santo Tomas.

Even without reinforcements, the Tigresses are on top of the standings with a 5-1 card.

Expect the Pocari Sweat-BaliPure showdown to be as intense as their semis duel in the last conference.

That’s because both teams have won their last four games after dropping their opening matches with the Pocari Lady Warriors losing to the Air Force Lady Jet Spikers (25-20, 22-25, 25-7, 22-25, 15-12), and the Water Defenders to the Tigresses (21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13).

The Lady Warriors will once again rely on imports Kate Morrell and Kaylee Manns along with a formidable local lineup that include Amy Ahomiro, Sue Roces, Dzi Gervacio and libero Denden Lazaro.

The Water Defenders, for their part, also have foreign reinforcements in Breanna Mackie and Andrea Kacsits, as well as local standouts in Michele Gumabao, Myla Pablo, Elaine Kasilag and libero Melissa Gohing.

Also taking the spotlight is the 6 p.m. duel between another semifinalist Bureau of Customs against eliminated Air Force.

The BOC Transformers aim to follow up their 25-18, 25-12, 25-18 win over the Coast Guard Lady Dolphins three days back that put them at 4-2.
