KALIBO, Aklan – At least twelve transgender have been charged for selling illegal drugs in world-famous beach destination of Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province.
The group led by Mark Anthony Galicia was charged before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in the capital town of Kalibo.
They were arrested in a joint operation of units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) last November 6.
Galicia was the initial subject of the anti-drug operation. He sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover cop.
The other 11 suspects were also caught having a drug session during the buy-bust operation.
Also included in the drug charges are Aldwin Kirk Abello, John Barry Camua, Hilmar Celestino, Kim Gador Delicano, Michael Salcedo, Ronelio Sollano, Alvin Tampos, Estoni Tonic, Harlie Verano, and Rafael Ybanez. (Jun N. Aguirre)
