DAVAO CITY – President Duterte’s youngest grandson Marko Digong “Stonefish” D. Carpio was baptized in an intimate ceremony at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish at the corner of Don Julian Rodriguez and Carlos P. Garcia Highways here yesterday morning.

The baptism, which coincided with the 80th Araw ng Dabaw celebration, was attended only by family and godparents.

Among the godparents were former President now Manila Mayor Joseph E. Estrada, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, Sebastian Duterte, Jefry Tupas, Davao City Hall information officer Janette Velasco, Darlyne Rubio, Mayjoy Ramos, and Charo Rejuso-Munsayac.

Stonefish, who was baptized by Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles and named after a sea creature, is the third child of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and husband Atty. Manases Carpio.

Marko Digong has two older siblings named Sharky and Stingray, also named after sea creatures.

Mayor Sara gave birth to Stonefish last March 2 via Cesarean section.

Stonefish is the lone triplet who survived after Mayor Sara lost two of her triplets days after the Davao City Night Market bombing last September 2.

The Chief Executive was not present at the baptism but was present at the reception at the Matina Enclaves clubhouse.
