6 inmates escape

CAMP V. LIM, Laguna – Six inmates of the San Pedro City Detention Center reportedly escaped yesterday morning by cutting steel bars of their jail cell.

The six were identified as Benjo G. Lopena, Mark Joseph A. Varias, Jordan I. Mahusay, Ed Nino Edwardo H. Lozada, Rey Rodrigo Erenia and Arvin B. Lizarda.

The jailbreak was discovered by PO2 Jovencio Piodo and Duty Desk Officer PO3 Crisman Manabat.

Of the six, Gayod and Lozada were facing drug charges while Erenia was dealing with violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of bladed weapon.

The Laguna Police Provincial Office is now conducting investigation of the said incident while manhunt operation was immediately carried out.

Police Regional Office 4A regional director Chief Superintendent Ma. O Aplasca gave a 24-hour ultimatum for the re-capture to Police Superintendent Harold Depositar, San Pedro City police chief and the duty guards or otherwise they will be facing administrative cases. (DANNY J. ESTACIO)
