Jeron Teng scored 35 points for his fourth career game of at least 30 as Flying V downed Gamboa Coffee Mix, 119-104, yesterday for its second win in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The former La Salle star once again showed why he is one of the top prospects in next season’s PBA draft by going 12-of-20 from the field while firing 20 points in the first half that saw the Thunder take a 60-48 halftime lead.
Teng’s output exceeded the 33 he made two weeks ago when his game-winner propelled Flying V past Aspirants’ Cup champion Cignal, 86-84, in the team’s first-ever match in the PBA’s developmental tournament.
