Two-hundred forty-two Maute Group terrorists have been killed in the ongoing clashes in Marawi City, the Joint Task Force Marawi said yesterday.

The task force said that as of 6 p.m. Saturday, 59 government troops and 26 civilians were killed while 243 firearms were recovered.

One-thousand six-hundred thirty-six civilians trapped in the fighting were rescued.

Armed Forces Public Affairs Office chief Marine Col. Edgard Arevalo said the military continues clearing operations in Marawi against remaining armed terrorists who continue to resist advancing troops.

Arevalo added that rescue of trapped residents and hostages also continue, including the recovery of the bodies of civilian casualties.
