Manila, Cebu dispute solo lead

Games Today
(Rizal Memorial Stadium)
4 p.m. – Meralco vs Global
(Panaad Stadium, Bacolod City)
7 p.m. – Ceres vs Davao

Meralco-Manila and Global-Cebu dispute the solo lead after last week’s disappointing results as they face off today in the Philippines Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Kickoff is set at 4 p.m. with home team Meralco looking to separate itself from idle Kaya-Makati.

Meralco is itching to get back in top form after being mauled 7-0 by Ceres-Negros at the same pitch while Global was held to a scoreless draw by the Davao Aguilas in front of its disappointed fans at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Kaya and Meralco are tied with 23 points while Global is two back in third position.

Meanwhile, Ceres seeks another win and catch up with the three aforementioned teams when it battles Davao in a 7 p.m. duel at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

The Busmen are eyeing their third straight victory and continue their rise in form after an inconsistent start in the league campaign.

Davao is winless after 10 matches and will try to produce a respectable result against the fancied Negros side.
