Friendship is expected to take a backseat as Filipino pride Eduard Folayang tangles with Australian Martin Nguyen as One FC features a battle of champions card dubbed Legends of the World on Nov. 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Folayang will risk his lightweight crown against Nguyen, the featherweight king and Folayang swears he is undeterred in ruining the challenger’s party plans.

“This (lightweight) is my kingdom,” said Folayang during a press launch Tuesday in Makati’s CBD, acknowledging that Nguyen has everything to gain in his bold bid to unseat him.

Folayang has an MMA record of 18-5 while Nguyen parades a 9-1 slate and Nguyen revealed that it was during a chat on social media when the idea of facing each other was born.

“I messaged him on Facebook and we came to an agreement,” Nguyen told spin.ph.

Folayang and Nguyen bumped into each other in Los Angeles sometime back and they immediately hit it off.

However, their fondness for each other goes out the window next month.

“It’s strictly business,” said Nguyen.
