Ceres-Negros faces Shan U

By Jonas Terrado

Ceres-Negros eyes another victory over Burmese side Shan United and preserve its hold of the top spot in Group F tonight in the AFC Cup at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

The Busmen are also eager to rebound from last week’s 1-all draw against Singapore’s Home United as they battle the same squad they beat in the AFC Champions League qualifiers last January in the match set at 7:30 p.m.

Ceres beat Shan United, 4-3, on penalties in the first preliminary round after the extra time ended at 1-1 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.

This time, the reigning Philippines Football League champion is out to show why it is groomed to finish Group F on top with its talented roster led by midfielders Stephan Schrock and Mike Ott and Spaniards Bienvenido Maranon and Toni Doblas.
