Powerhouse Petron gave Generika-Ayala the big boot with a comprehensive 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 victory over the weekend to secure the second semifinal ticket in the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at the Gen. Trias Sports Center in Cavite.

American imports Hillary Hurley and Lindsay Stalzer showed the way in offense while top locals Mika Reyes, skipper Ces Molina and Remy Palma provided enough support to help the No. 2 Blaze Spikers bundle out the No. 7 Lifesavers in one hour and 28 minutes of play.

With the win, Petron advanced to the semifinal round where it will take on the winner of the other quarterfinal series pitting No. 3 Cocolife and No. 6 Cignal which will be played tomorrow at The Arena in San Juan City.

Defending champion F2 Logistics was the first to make it to the Final Four after the top-ranked Cargo Movers eliminated the eight-seeded Smart Giga Hitters, 25-18, 25-18, 27-25, in the initial quarterfinal battle offering.

Hurley tallied a game-high 18 points, built around 15 attacks, three service aces and a pair of blocks, while Stalzer, a one-time tournament MVP, delivered 17 points. (Jerome Lagunzad)
