NU, FEU clash in rubber match

By KRISTEL SATUMBAGA

Far Eastern University (FEU) and National University (NU) dispute the remaining final berth in the rubber match of their semis series today in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Tamaraws and the Bulldogs clash at 10 a.m. with the latter determined to sustain the momentum of their 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21 Game 2 triumph last Sunday.

The Tamaraws, however, are unfazed, believing they can go all the way this time.

The winner will earn the right to face University of Santo Tomas in the best-of-three finals.

The Tigers swept their own semis series with Adamson following a 25-15, 16-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-8 win in Game 2 three days back.

It will be a battle of hard-hitting spikers as NU boasts of Bryan Bagunas while FEU has John Paul Bugaoan to rely on.

Bagunas led the Bulldogs’s Game 2 win after dropping 30 points.

If they are to beat the Tamaraws for the second game, the Bulldogs must come up with the same energy defensively after holding Bugaoan to just 13 points the last time.

Aside from Bugaoan, the Tamaraws can also count on Redijohn Paler and Peter John Quiel while the Bulldogs can also get significant numbers from Francis Saura and Kim Malabunga.

FEU drew first blood, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23.
