London Olympian Mark Anthony Barriga, who vies for the world title on Dec. 1 in Los Angeles, is right on track in his buildup for his shot at stardom.
No less than reigning world champion Jerwin Ancajas swears that the crafty fighter is not only nearing peak form but moving like a true winner.
“He is simply making us feel very confident about his chances of winning,” said Ancajas in Pilipino from their training camp in Magallanes, Cavite.
Another key figure in Barriga’s camp echoed Ancajas’ sentiments.
“His weight is down to about 112 lbs,” said former national amateur team member Delfin Boholst, Barriga’s conditioning coach.
Barriga battles Mexican-American Carlos Licona at the Staples Center for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight crown.
