Three administration senatorial candidates made it to the “Magic 12” of the survey conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center-Pulsong Pilipino from April 23 to 27.
Former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, former Presidential Political Affairs Adviser Atty. Francis Tolentino, and former Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” M. dela Rosa would be elected if the elections were held in the survey period.
Go ranked fourth while Dela Rosa and Tolentino placed eighth and ninth, respectively, in the survey participated by 1,800 respondents nationwide with a margin of error at plus-minus 2.5 percent.
The three candidates are supported by the administration Partido-Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan and the Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
Reelectionist Senators Grace Poe and Cynthia Villar remain in first and second places, respectively, while fellow reelectionist Senators Sonny Angara is fifth, Nancy Binay is seventh, and JV Ejercito is twelfth.
Tolentino is satisfied with the survey results.
“I am thankful for the people’s continued trust and support for what I can do for the nation. Other than my advocacy for disaster preparedness and resiliency, I am confident that my education as a lawyer and my experience as a local chief executive tailor-fits me to a law-making body such as the Senate,” he said.
“Given the chance, I would like to serve our countrymen even further through the passage of laws that champion their welfare and advance national development.”
