FOLLOWING the success of the first charity gala of Bb. Pilipinas last June 4, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is hoping it would be made an annual event.
“Para mas marami kaming matulungan,” said Wurtzbach.
The event, dubbed “Frontrow Cares and the Universe Gives Back” is to benefit Love Yourself and Young Focus, the main charities of Wurtzbach and reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray, respectively.
Gray and Wurtzbach have been involved in the charity works of these two groups long before they earned their Miss Universe crowns.
No official statement has been released as to the total amount of money raised during the event but an unconfirmed report said that it amounted to more than P2 million.
Jonas Gaffud, creative director for Miss Universe Philippines brand, earlier said that the funds raised will be divided equally between the beneficiary-groups.
Gray, meanwhile, felt fulfilled with the staging of the charity gala.
“So happy and fulfilled that my clients are being honored as beneficiaries at the charity gala. My heart is so, so full,” she said.
Participating Filipino designers in the charity show were Albert Andrada, Michael Leyva, Rhett Eala, Ito Curata, Jot Losa, Avel Bacudio, Cherry Veric, and Martin Bautista.
Their creations were modelled on the runway by the 40 official candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 pageant. (ROBERT R. REQUINTINA)
