A transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver was arrested by police after yielding more than P20,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Tuesday night.
Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Grab driver Diolan Santiago, a resident of Tala, Caloocan City.
Police said Santiago was arrested by joint operatives of Quezon City Police District’s Novaliches Police Station (PS-4) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in front of a sari-sari store at the corner of Cabesa Andres and Dominga Streets in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon.
Initial report from PS-4 showed that authorities received information regarding Santiago’s drug peddling activities.
Upon confirming the report, members of PS-4 Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with PDEA carried out the drug bust around 10:30 p.m.
An undercover officer purchased shabu from the suspect amounting to P2,500 which resulted in his arrest.
Seized from Santiago were four sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P20,400, a mobile phone, and his Black Toyota Vios which police said was being used in the suspect’s transactions.
Santiago is now under police custody and will be charged with violation of the anti-drugs law. (Alexandria San Juan)
