The NCAA has postponed all three seniors matches yesterday at The Arena in San Juan City after the suspension of classes in all levels in Metro Manila due to heavy rains.
NCAA Management Committee (MANCOM) chairman Peter Cayco of host school Arellano University made the announcement, which also included one junior’s match in the evening.
“Due to the late suspension of classes, the games scheduled at 12 p.m. onwards for Friday are cancelled and shall be played on a date and time to be determined later,” said Cayco.
The four-peat seeking San Beda University was to face College of St. Benilde in a battle between two unbeaten teams currently tied for the lead with 4-0 records at 12 p.m., followed by the 2 p.m. match of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and San Sebastian College-Recoletos.
Also called off were the senior’s and junior’s matches of Arellano University and Lyceum of the Philippines University.
Meantime, RC Calimag fired 30 points and Lennox Valenzuela added 23 points to lead the La Salle Greenies to a 99-98 win against the San Beda Red Cubs while Eman Galman fired 23 points in a 67-62 win as Perpetual Help dealt SSC-R its third straight loss after a 2-0 start . (WAYLON GALVEZ)
