Malacañang yesterday congratulated Sen. Bong Go as his son, Christian Lawrence “Chrence” Go, placed third in this year’s Certified Public Accountant licensure examination.
Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo briefly congratulated all successful examinees before expressing pride on the achievement of Go’s son.
“The President and the Palace wish to convey their felicitations to all the 2,075 examinees who passed this year’s Certified Public Accountant Licensure examination,” he said.
“In particular, the Palace joins President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in congratulating one of his administration’s strongest allies in Congress, Sen. Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, as well as his son, Christian Lawrence Go, for the latter’s performance in the said examination, the results of which reveal that he secured the third-highest spot (out of the 14,492 examinees) with the score of 89.50,” he added.
Panelo noted that the younger Go was a valedictorian in grade school and high school and graduated summa cum laude from college at the De La Salle University.
Sen. Go in a statement Tuesday pointed out the similarity between him and his son, saying he was also No. 3 in the Senate race this year while his son is No. 3 in the CPA board exam.
“Indeed, this gives truth to the saying, ‘Like father, like son,'” Panelo said.
Chrence had earlier called out Duterte’s granddaughter Isabelle for her pre-debut photoshoot in Malacañang.
“Parang may sense of entitlement ang dating. Nagpose pa siya sa seal. Weird, so weird,” Go said in a tweet. (Argyll Cyrus B. Geducos)
