BACOLOD CITY – Eight persons, including a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman, were recently arrested in two separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental.
The recent operation was conducted in Barangay Bata here Tuesday, which led to the confiscation of about 65 grams of suspected shabu worth P975,000.
Personnel of Police Station 3 arrested target subject Guillermo Lebosana, 40, of Barangay Bata; and his companions – Ariel Jimeno, 31, and Junmar Gerardino, 39, both residents of Barangay Bata; and Regie Saberon, 34, of Barangay Banago.
Police recovered from them 16 sachets of suspected shabu, the P1,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Police Major Ruel Culanag, head of Police Station 3, said Lebosana is a high value target drug personality.
Culanag said they have difficulty operating Lebosana since he’s been moving from one place to another, until he was cornered in Barangay Bata.
He also said that they are investigating if Lebosana is part of a drug group here, adding that some of the arrested suspects are also target of the police in the anti-illegal drug campaign.
All four suspects are detained at Police Station 3 for the filing of drug charges.
Meanwhile, SK chairman Rey Vicente, 20, of Barangay 3 and his three companions were also arrested in a drug bust in the barangay in Kabankalan City last Oct. 17.
Police seized from them P160,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Police Lt. Col. Mary Rose Pico, city police chief, said all four suspects were tested positive for drug use based on the results of their drug test from the regional crime laboratory. (Glazyl Masculino)
