The body of one of the two overseas Filipino workers who died in a freak car crash in Singapore was received by her siblings at Clark International Airport in Pampanga Wednesday night, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement.
Onboard a flight that flew directly from Singapore, the remains of Arlyn Nucos, 50, were received by the family in the presence of representatives from the DFA’s consular office in Angeles City.
Upon arrival, Nucos’ remains were brought to her hometown in Caba, La Union.
Through the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, the DFA said they are in close coordination with relevant authorities on when the remains of 41-year-old Abigail Danao Leste, the other Filipino fatality in the car crash, will be repatriated.
Both Nucos and Leste instantly died when a black Honda car crashed into them at a parking exit pavement on Nutmeg Road, behind Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road, before 5 p.m. on Sunday where a group of Filipinos, mostly OFWs, were gathered. Many of them were celebrating New Year festivity. (Roy C. Mabasa)
