BEAUTY Gonzalez is thankful that “Kadenang Ginto” landed on her lap.
She admitted it was “make or break” for her, relating how she was actually thinking of transferring networks prior.
“Buti na lang hindi natuloy,” she said, laughing.
“Kaya nga I’m really thankful that despite everything, ABS-CBN still offered me the project na, of course, alam naman natin na nag big hit so it’s really a blessing and I’m so grateful.”
The a ctress related she is now healthier because of the success of the show.
“Dati kasi, before the show started, anorexic ako. I was down to a hundred pounds.”
Apparently, the pressure of maintaining a slimmer figure took its toll on her.
“Gusto ko siyempre maganda, sexy. Aminin natin, chubby-lita ako dati and I was being teased a lot about it. Dahil sa kagustuhan ko na ma-win ‘yung approval ng mga tao, nagpapayat ako, hanggang sa ‘yun nga nagkaproblema ako. Hindi ko namalayan, nagkaroon na ako ng eating disorder.”
Beauty worked on it and succeeded.
“Hindi ako nagpatalo. Inisip ko, bakit ko pasasayahin ang iba kung hindi naman ako masaya? Payat ka nga pero malungkot ka naman.”
She advised followers on social media thus, “Happiness is not having what you want. It’s actually wanting what you have. Wise words right? But easier said than done. Why are we our own worst critic? Why are we never satisfied? Maybe the answers are outside o u r s e lve s . Maybe w e s h o u l d v ie w our selves the way the people who love us do. Focus on the good, then run with it. The opinion of one person who truly cares for you is surely worth more than those of a million strangers. Baby steps, baby steps. We’ll get there.”
