Senior street sweeper bumped twice dies

A septuagenarian street sweeper died after she was hit twice by two vehicles while crossing H. Lopez Boulevard in Manila Friday.

The Manila Police District identified the victim as 73-year-old Lydia Infante of Balut, Tondo, Manila.

Investigation showed that Infante was crossing H. Lopez Boulevard around 6:25 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Dennis dela Cruz travelling south accidentally hit the victim, causing her to fall to the ground.

A taxi, driven by Anecito Pequit, which was travelling the opposite direction also hit the victim, police added.

The two drivers rushed Infante to the Tondo General Hospital where she eventually died. (Joseph Pedrajas)
