The stand of Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III against increasing the Value-Added Tax (VAT) rate from the current 12 percent to 14 percent is admirable not only because it is pro-consumers but also because it reflects the kind of government that we have now.

And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.
