2 Abu Sayyaf hostages freed

South Korean captain and a Filipino crewman allegedly abducted by the Abu Sayaff Group (ASG) three months ago were released yesterday, according to Presidential Adviser on Peace Process Jesus Dureza.

Eight Filipino fishermen were killed after at least five suspected pirates boarded a fishing boat in southern Philippine waters and strafed the crew, officials said Tuesday.
