US warns citizens vs traveling to Palawan

The United States Embassy in Manila yesterday issued an advisory warning its citizens that Islamist militant groups may be planning to kidnap foreigners in Palawan, including Puerto Princesa City, and areas surrounding the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.

President Duterte has named former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Roy Cimatu as the new Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary.

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) assured last weekend that it will wipe out the Abu Sayyaf within three months. Three months ago, President Duterte had ordered the military to finish the Abu Sayyaf in six months. “We are confident that we will meet our targets and deadline,” AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said.
