The ASEAN Way in this year of PH chairmanship

THE Philippines, as chairman for 2017 of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), will launch ASEAN 2017 at the Davao SMX Convention Center today with the theme “We Are Partners for Change, Engaging the World.”

During his meeting with the businessmen at the Jurong Ballroom of the Shangrila Hotel on Friday, the Chief Executive discussed the many developments and reforms in the Philippines especially in the key growth sectors.

INDONESIA’S Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu has called for intensified joint patrolling in the waters that link Indonesia with the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei, all fellow members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Malacca Strait and the waters linking the four countries must not become like the Somalia waters where piracy is rampant, he said.
