Appointing power

The power of the President to appoint certain officials in his administration is grounded on the idea that he should be given the prerogative to choose the people he trusts can implement his agenda, and that he will pick the best and the brightest to advise him on governance.

Espenilla’s appointment was revealed by Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol in his Facebook account. According to Piñol, Duterte made the announcement during the 15th Cabinet Meeting in Malacañang last night.
