P2.39B needed for storm victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) needs some P2.39 billion to implement national recovery and rehabilitation projects for victims of tropical cyclones and floods in the last five months.

The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability will launch another leg of its investigation on the controversial P10-billion Poverty Eradication and Alleviation Certificate (PEACe) bonds with Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” J. Soliman participating as among the key resource persons in the congressional hearing.
