Leila bill bans corporal punishment on children

De Lima, a human rights advocate, filed Senate Bill No. 1348 or the “Anti-Corporal Punishment Act of 2017” which aims to shield Filipino children from corporal punishment and all other forms of humiliating and degrading treatment.

The 15-member Supreme Court (SC) is set to hear tomorrow the oral arguments on the petition filed by Sen. Leila de Lima who challenged her arrest and detention on the criminal case for illegal drug trading filed before the Muntinlupa City regional trial court (RTC).
