Tax court orders arrest of film director Caparas

The Court of Tax Appeals has issued another warrant of arrest against film director Carlo J. Caparas in connection with the P540 million multiple tax evasion case filed against him by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Department of Justice (DoJ) in 2010.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is reviewing its policy for departing travelers in response to numerous complaints of indiscriminate offloading of Filipino tourists in airports.

The Department of Justice (DoJ) issued yesterday a watchlist order (WLO) against former President now Pampanga Rep. Gloria M. Arroyo and her husband, former First Gentleman Atty. Jose Miguel “Mike” T. Arroyo, former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Benjamin S. Abalos Sr., former Justice Secretary Alberto Agra, and several other election officials and private individuals charged with election fraud in the 2007 elections.
