PNP screens members of new anti-drug unit

The newly created Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Unit has started conducting background checks on all applicants and other would-be anti-narcotics policemen as part of the efforts to shield the unit from scalawag policemen.

A police colonel tagged in the kidnap-slay of South Korean executive Jee Ick Joo last year has left Camp Crame in Quezon City where he was supposed to be under restrictive custody.

QC court allows bail for Marcelino

A Quezon City court has granted the bail petition of former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency official Marine Lt. Col. Ferdinand Marcelino who was nabbed in a shabu laboratory raid in Sta. Cruz, Manila on January 21.
