No ouster plot vs House chief

A senior administration congressman yesterday warned his colleagues against being distracted by the rumor of an ouster plot against House Speaker Pantaleon D. Alvarez, saying that this was clearly the result of the House official’s undaunted position on various legislative issues, including the ongoing impeachment of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P.A. Sereno.

The House leadership and its members may have just reacted to public criticisms of their favored mode of changing the Constitution and its dreaded ramification on our cherished social institution, but their over-reaction simply demonstrated their bravado to promote their naked self interests and trample with impunity on the others’ right to disagree.
