Militants’ command center in Marawi falls

Philippine forces battling Islamic State group supporters in Marawi have scored a major victory when they captured the militants’ command center following a deadly battle that began Saturday in a mosque and another building.

POPE Francis was moved to pray for an end to the “inhuman violence of terrorism” after five days of violence that killed a total of 34 people in Burkina Faso, Spain, and Finland last week.
