Martial Law oral arguments end

The Supreme Court terminated its three-day oral arguments on the three cases challenging the constitutionality of Martial Law in Mindanao after an executive session yesterday with Defense Secretary and Martial Law Administrator Delfin Lorenzana and Armed Forces Chief of Staff and Martial Law Implementor Gen. Eduardo Año.

The Supreme Court (SC) is expected to deliberate this morning and decide on the issue involving the burial of the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) in Taguig City.

Gov’t defends FM burial at Libingan

Solicitor General Jose C. Calida told the Supreme Court yesterday that burying the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libi-ngan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) “is not to honor him as a hero, even if by military standards he is, but to accord him the simple mortuary befitting a President.”
