Koko appeals for help

Senate President Koko Pimentel yesterday appealed for immediate aid for residents of Cagayan de Oro City affected by the heavy rains that triggered “cataclysmic flash floods.”

Unlike himself, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson believes that colleague Sen. Leila M. de Lima, who is currently out of the country, will not try to go into hiding like what he did when he was charged for double murder in 2010.

Villanueva dismissed

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales has ordered the dismissal from the service of Sen. Joel Villanueva for allegedly misusing R10-million of his Priority Development Assistance Fund or “pork barrel” fund when he was still Citizens Battle Against Corruption party-list representative in 2008.
