Damn if you do, damn if you don’t

Take the case of Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao who, along with eight others, including five armed bodyguards, were killed in a firefight in Makilala, North Cotabato on October 28, 2016. Dimaukom was supposedly linked to illegal drugs.

Malacañang has defended President Duterte’s decision to reinstate a police official implicated in the killing of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. at the Leyte sub-provincial jail in Baybay City last year, saying rule of law was not at all disregarded.
